I was looking over an expense report that was submitted for one of our superstars, I mean sales reps. I say superstar because that is how they are treated. They went to a tradeshow in Las Vegas. Hey, no problem, we need to do it to drum up business right?
Well let’s take a little closer look. Did you need to spend a few hundred on meals every day? Who were you entertaining exactly? I hope they were prospects and not whores. Sorry for the accusation, it is just that I am not sure why a dry cleaner bill was part of your expense. Sounds like Monica Lewinsky needed to have the dress dry cleaned for some reasons.
Which has me thinking if these shows are even worth it. I would love to post the expense report so you can see how much was submitted. Hundreds in meals for a 3 day show. Taxi cab rides instead of a 3 block walk, no problem. It isn’t your dime.
